A. let sleeping dogs lie 不要沒事惹事/別自找麻煩
字面是「讓在睡覺的狗兒躺著」，就是別吵醒牠之意。
引申為「不要沒事惹事」或「別自找麻煩」。
例：The boss likes him, so you'd better let sleeping dogs lie.
(老闆喜歡他，所以你最好不要沒事惹事。)

B. the top dog 居於高位的人/優勝者
例：He has wanted to be the top dog ever since he entered the company.
(他自進公司以來，就想當上一哥。)

C. dog-eat-dog 競爭激烈的
例：The toilet market is dog-eat-dog, so all the salesmen have to work very hard.
(馬桶市場競爭激烈，因此所有的業務員都必須賣命。)

D. can't teach an old dog new tricks 老狗學不了新把戲/積習難改
例：I will defeat him sooner or later because you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
(我遲早會打敗他的，因為他早就變不出什麼新把戲了。)

E. every dog has its day 總會有好運
字面上意思是「每隻狗都有牠的一天」，表示不管多差勁的人，都有他走運的一天。
例：I guess every dog has its day! I will win for sure next month!
(我想他剛好走運吧！我下個月一定會贏的！)
